About Us

Facilities Management is a service organization composed of units that plan, construct, manage, operate and maintain the physical assets (buildings, grounds and utility systems) of the university. Our mission is to provide a physical environment in which staff, faculty and students can achieve excellence in teaching, learning, research and public service.

UK Cancer and Advanced Ambulatory Building Reaches Major Construction Milestone

July 16 marked a pivotal moment in construction of the UK Cancer and Advanced Ambulatory Building as University of Kentucky leadership, state leaders and Walsh Construction hosted a ceremonial “topping out” celebration.

Facilities work request process during temporary SAP system outage

As part of the University of Kentucky’s transition to a modernized SAP platform through Project RISE, all SAP systems will be unavailable from 6 p.m. Thursday, July 16, through 8 a.m. Monday, July 20. A temporary work request form will be available.

UK Recycling sets record with more than 18 tons collected during move-out

As University of Kentucky students moved out of campus housing this spring, UK Recycling set a new benchmark for sustainability efforts — collecting a record 36,355 pounds (18.2 tons) of donations and recyclables through its 2026 move-out initiative.

Planning Design and Construction is responsible for planning and executing the university's construction plan.  We assist in creating the master plan of capital improvements, hire the architects and engineers to design the planned renovations and new construction projects, and manage the entire planning, design, and construction process.  We liaise with our university clients and project stakeholders to ensure their needs are met along the way.
