In 2012, the University embarked upon a historic multi-phased P3 partnership with Education Realty Trust (EdR/Greystar) to construct state of the art student housing facilities on campus.
The new housing development provided new housing to enhance the learning experience for students at the University of Kentucky. The multi-phased project replaced most of the existing student housing located across campus with modern state of the art facilities.
The total project was completed in three phases, as follows:
The overall project had a total transformation cost of $449,282,847, with a total area of 2,589,708 GSF, including 222 total academic support spaces (18 classrooms, 137 Active Learning Centers, and 46 multi-purpose rooms, plus fit-out of shelled spaces for a North Study, a retail food venue, and a Creative Arts center.)
